One of the most painful human experiences is standing in a crowded room and feeling completely alone.

The places we should feel the closest to others, like friendships and family, are often places where we feel that no one truly sees us and no one truly knows us.

In Psalm 139, King David beckons the rejected, insecure, emotionally tired, and religiously weary to come and hear the gentle words of a loving Father.

You may feel alone, but you are not alone.

For thousands of years, the Psalms have been the central place in God's Word where God's People go for spiritual guidance and renewal.

Many of us today, especially in this midst of this pandemic, relate to the psalmists. We feel isolated, discouraged, and even abandoned by those who are supposed to love and care for us — including God.

The power of the Psalms is that they meet us right where we're at, in our pain and in our struggle, but they tell us a bigger story. The story of the God who made us, sees us and knows us, and loves us dearly. I can think of no better psalm that conveys this message more than Psalm 139.

This is why I am excited to offer this free course Known by God: A Spiritual Journey Through Psalm 139so many can encounter the God who sees them and knows them.
